Gymnasts Code of Conduct

As a gymnast at Gymmagic, I understand that I am part of a team and that my behaviour affects others around me. I agree to follow the values below to help create a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for everyone.

1. Respect

• I will treat all coaches, gymnasts, volunteers, and staff members with kindness, patience, and politeness.
• I will listen to others without interrupting and accept guidance respectfully.

2. Listening and Following Instructions

• I will follow all instructions from coaches immediately.
• I will remain in designated areas and never leave the gym without a coach’s permission.

3. Safety

• I will walk carefully around the gym and never run.
• I will only use equipment I’ve been told to use and only when supervised.
• I will tell a coach if I am hurt or don’t feel well.

4. Team Spirit and Representation

• I will encourage others and help my teammates succeed.
• I will wear the correct attire and represent Gymmagic positively at competitions and events.

5. Positivity and Kindness

• I will be friendly to everyone and avoid negative behaviour like name-calling or bullying.
• I understand bullying is never acceptable (see Anti-Bullying Policy).

6. Punctuality and Responsibility

• I will arrive on time and be ready to warm up.
• I will wait inside the gym at pick-up and tell a coach if my parent/carer is late.
• I will inform coaches if I am late or unable to attend.

7. Appearance and Equipment

• I will wear appropriate clothing for gymnastics (leotard/shorts and top).
• I will tie back long hair, remove jewellery and piercings, and follow BG rules on body adornments.
• I will remove chewing gum and food before training.

8. Honesty and Communication

• I will be honest at the tuck shop and fair to others.
• I will tell my coaches about any illnesses, injuries, or holidays in advance.

9. Speaking Up and Safeguarding

• I will talk to a coach or the Welfare Officer if something doesn’t feel right or if I am worried.
